Introduction To Synthesizers
Today, the synthesizer is used in nearly every genre of music, and is considered one of the most important instruments in the music industry. Essentially everything that is not an acoustic based instrument (including ones that require amplification) is a synthesizer. Every DAW software we use to create music includes numerous instruments that are all essentially synthesizers. Synthesizers come in many shapes and forms in both hardware and software versions: classic looking keyboard synthesizers, modular synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, groove boxes, instrument emulators, and many more.
